The burden of inflation on the poor class should be reduced: Prime Minister
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that as much as possible to reduce the burden of inflation on the poor class, special attention should be given to the prevention of smuggling and storage.
According to details, a meeting was held on the reduction of inflation chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, attended by Asad Omar, Khusro Bakhtiyar, Abdul Hafiz Sheikh, Razzaq Dawood, Firdous Ashiq Awan and related federal secretaries and senior officers.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the stability of prices of essential commodities, a potential reduction is a priority of the government. All the focus of the government is on providing relief to the poor people. He said that the basic commodities must be available at reasonable prices so as to reduce the burden of inflation on the poor class as much as possible.
The Prime Minister said that accurate data on the stock of essential commodities should be given to accurate estimates of supply and demand; special arrangements should be given to smuggling, storage depressing, prevention with advance arrangements to ensure delivery of basic goods. ۔
He further said that provincial governments should immediately look at suggestions for reducing wheat prices. In light of the proposals, a comprehensive policy should be announced regularly.
