The BRT project got a permanent project director after 3 months
PESHAWAR: Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project got permanent project director after three months, the KP government decided to appoint Zafar Ali Shah as DGPDA.
According to News, Zafar Ali Shah has had the additional charge of DGPDA for 3 months but has now been permanently appointed as Project Director.
Official sources said that the municipal department had sent the names of Zafar Ali Shah, Mati Ullah Khan and Atta UR Rehman. Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan has approved Zafar Ali Shah's name for the DGPDA.
The name of the DGPDA will also be approved from KPK cabinet today. It is to be noted that during the BRT project the three DG, s of the PDA has been removed.
Last month, Transport Minister Shah Muhammad had said that BRT would be completed by June 30, 2020, the contract with the contractor has done, Work will be completed on time; if work is not completed on time, they will be fined.
Before that, the FIA launched an inquiry into the BRT project on a High Court order in Peshawar. However, earlier this month, the Supreme Court stopped the execution of the BRT Peshawar inquiry order and sought details of the cost and completion of the project. The apex court also issued notices to the parties and ordered the matter to have stayed.
