Supreme Court orders federal employees to give 20% secretariat allowance

Islamabad: Supreme Court orders federal employees to give 20% secretariat allowance, saying the federal government cannot discriminate against employees

According to details, a three-member bench headed by Justice Maqbool Baqir in the Supreme Court heard the appeal against the decision of the Division Bench of the High Court of Federal Employees.

The Supreme Court upheld the Division Bench of the Islamabad High Court, dismissing the employees' appeals and said that the federal government could not discriminate with the employees, all federal employees would get 20% secretariat allowance.

Lawyer Shoaib Shaheen said that the secretariat allowance was only for employees working in the ministries.

Considering that a single bench of the Islamabad High Court had ordered the employees to be given an allowance and the division bench had refused to grant the allowance by approving the federal inter court appeal.
