ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has arrived in Colombo on a two-day official visit, where he will meet Sri Lanka's newly elected leadership and will also congratulate Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will begin a two-day visit to Sri Lanka starting today (December 2).
According to the Foreign Office, Shah Mehmood Qureshi will meet and congratulate Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
In addition, the Foreign Minister will hold separate meetings with his nominee Sri Lankan counterpart Dinesh.
During the meeting, the two sides will discuss regional issues and world issues including bilateral relations.
According to the statement, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have a deep and close relationship based on mutual trust and understanding.
The bilateral relations between the two countries are wide and multifaceted, including political, commercial, commercial, defense, public relations and cultural exchange.
At the same time, high-level visits are a normal part of Pak-Sri Lanka relations.
It is to be noted that on November 20, Prime Minister Imran Khan called on Sri Lanka's newly elected President Gotabaya Raja Pixe and congratulated him on the victory in the elections.
The Prime Minister invited him to visit Pakistan, which was accepted by the Sri Lankan president.
It is to be noted that Gotabaya Raja Pixe had won the Sri Lankan presidential elections, the results of which were announced on November 17.
