New York: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in New York on a one-day visit to meet with UN leaders, after which he will travel to Washington to meet with US leadership.
It should be noted that on the direction of the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister is visiting various countries to ease the tensions between Iran and the US in the Middle East.
According to the report, UN spokeswoman Stephanie D Jork said in a press briefing that Shah Mehmood Qureshi's meeting with the UN leaders was arranged at the request of the Pakistani mission and "the Secretary-General will visit the Foreign Ministers."
Officials in New York told reporters that during a one-day visit, Foreign Secretary will meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and General Assembly President Tzani Mohammad Bande.
On the other hand, the Foreign Office statement said that Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi will visit New York and Washington from January 15 to 17, 2020.
In the meantime, Mahmoud Qureshi will meet with the Secretary-General of the United Nations in New York, while Washington will meet with his US counterpart Mike Pompeo, national security adviser Robert O'Brien and other top government officials.
