Senior Actor Sajjad Kishore Passed Away

Agha Sajjad Kishore, a senior actor who played a prominent role in television, radio, and cinema, passed away after a short illness. According to a report, Sajjad Kishore passed away on May 24 while undergoing treatment. A large number of citizens attended his funeral prayers. Sajjad Kishore was buried at Shah Di Taliyan Cemetery near Committee Chowk in Rawalpindi.
Talking to Dawn, Sajjad Kishore's granddaughter Umm Aman said that the senior actor had become seriously ill after the death of his daughter last year and he remained constantly ill. He said that Sajjad Kishore was suffering from various diseases due to old age and other problems and he was undergoing treatment. After the death of his daughter, his condition worsened.

Sajjad Kishore left behind a son and two daughters in Sugran while several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, aged 89 years. Sajjad Kishore was born in Ludhiana, Punjab, in United India, which is now part of India. He moved to Pakistan with his parents after the partition. He started his career with Pakistan Television (PTV) Rawalpindi in 1967 at an early age.
Sajjad Kishore remained active in his life till 2005 and he acted in almost one thousand roles in dramas and theaters while he also acted in more than 100 films. For his outstanding performance, Sajjad Kishore was awarded the Medal of Distinction by the Government of Pakistan and the Lifetime Achievement Award by Radio Pakistan. He also won several other awards.
