The business community in the markets will ensure safety measures in the opening markets. Markets that do not follow security measures will be closed.
Milk, yogurt shops, and ovens will be open during Sehri during Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, while restaurants will be closed during Sehri and Iftar.
Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Aslam Iqbal said that the Punjab government has decided to partially open the markets during Ramadan. Aslam Iqbal said that the Punjab government would also take strict action against hoarders. So far, food items worth Rs 3 billion have been recovered from stockists. Any stock that will not be declared now will be called stockpiling.
The Industry Minister said that 718 tons of flour, 1817 tons of ghee, 16 thousand tons of sugar have been exported from stockists, 1440 tons of rice, pulses, red chilies have been exported and sold at official rates.
In addition, a video link meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Prevention of Corona was held in the Chief Minister's Office under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar. The participants were briefed on the smart lockdown. Issues related to reopening were also discussed. The meeting also reviewed the medical treatment facilities of the affected patients and the issue of providing protective clothing and the necessary equipment to the doctors and paramedical staff.
