Punjab Chief Minister orders non-discriminatory action against hoarders and profiteers

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar has ordered an indiscriminate crackdown against hoarders and profiteers across the province.
Usman Bazdar says he will not tolerate negligence in the availability of essential commodities to the people at fixed rates.

Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, while issuing instructions to the Cabinet Committee on Price Control, said that indiscriminate action should be taken against those who stockpile essential items during Ramadan. The Provincial Cabinet Committee should ensure the supply of price-controlled essential commodities at fixed rates.

Chief Minister Usman Bazdar directed the administrative officers to monitor the auction process in the markets and asked the administrative officers to monitor the auction process themselves. Action should be taken against those responsible for creating artificial inflation in accordance with the law.

Usman Bazdar said that action should be taken against hoarders under Anti-Hoarding Ordinance 2020. Those who hoard and make illicit profits in the blessed month do not deserve any concessions. We will go to the utmost to provide relief to the people of the province. The protection of the rights of the people requires the suppression of the hoarding mafia.
