KARACHI: With the spread of the Corona virus outbreak in Sindh, fake news has led to crowded city hospitals.
Experts say most citizens are unaware that they do not meet the screening criteria and need to consult a general practitioner.
In the past one week, people from all walks of life were seen at the Ojha campus with symptoms of the Corona virus.
Dr. Shobha Lakshmi, in-charge of the Isolation Unit in Ojha, said, "We have come from 40 to 50 patients per day to 400 patients per day. The number of kits we have is limited and not all can be tested. They are disappointed when they are told that they do not meet the screening criteria '.
On campus, the public was seen in green surgical masks that looked carefully at each other.
"At that time the numbers are very small, but if it goes up, we need more medical staff and trained people, we need to make sure that the doctors who are not doing emergency services will be exposed to the corona virus," he said.
