Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and singer Abrar-ul-Haq also fell victim to the coronavirus.
The Red Crescent chairman confirmed in a tweet on a social networking site that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.
After the positive results came out, Abrar-ul-Haq quarantined himself at home.
"I will carry out my duties as a Red Crescent and Sahara worker via Skype," he said.

On May 25, PML-N leader Senator Nihal Hashmi quarantined himself after confirming the virus.
It may be recalled that PML-N President Engineer Amir Muqam had contracted the Coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa yesterday and had quarantined himself.
Amir Muqam, a senior PML-N leader, had tested positive for the coronavirus after his condition deteriorated, after which his report came back positive.
Amir Muqam also confirmed on social networking site Twitter that he was a victim of Corona and said that he had quarantined himself at home.
