Police Officer's Suicide Attempt Due to Azadi March

ISLAMABAD: A police officer deployed in connection with the security of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Freedom March has attempted suicide at the police line headquarters.

In this regard, sources said that a Swatan officer wanted to take leave was also given a leave request to the top officers. However, officers responded to a request for leave, which the officer reluctantly tried to commit by turning the blade on his throat.

On the move of the Frontier Reserve Police Officer, the District Inspector General Operations took the customary notice and ordered the SP Industrial Area to investigate the matter. Police official says Siddique Khan, a head constable, is undergoing treatment at PIMS Hospital in Islamabad.
