KARACHI: PIA losses have been significantly reduced due to new national airline management measures.

According to News, a meeting of the PIA Board of Directors was held at the PIA Head Office, briefing on the steps of the new administration, it was stated that PIA had an operational deficit of 17 billion in the first 6 months of 2019 has reduced to 7 billion.

At the meeting, the accounts were also presented for approval of the quarterly accounts, the board approved the accounts.

It is to be noted that the number of PIA passengers travelling abroad from Jinnah International Airport also increased. During the six months, more than one lakh 29 thousand passengers travelled while 595 flights were operated.
