New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has to cancel its Narendra Modi visit to Assam due to difficulties in implementing the controversial citizenship law.
According to the report, Narendra Modi has been advised not to visit the state due to the protests where he was supposed to inaugurate a sports event.
The BJP, on the other hand, called on Christian leaders to seek their support for the Citizenship Act.
Christian leaders have clearly told the BJP to read and follow the Indian constitution.
Yesterday, the BJP announced the boycott of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone's boycott of her film after attending a boycott of state-sponsored violence at Jawaharlal Nehru University.
The BJP announcement showed extravagant anger on social media where people were asked to withdraw their call from the government minister.
Film director Anurag Kashyap accused the Modi government of dividing its citizens into patriots and traitors.
Speaking to India TV, he said, "There are only two types of people for the government, one is a patriot and the other a traitor."
He said that "whoever agrees with them will be labelled a traitor to patriotism and whatever questions they raise."
The film director said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah had legislated in support of hooligans and left them open to torture their 'enemies' in the country.
He said, "These hooligans are passionate and they enjoy violence. They believe they are serving the nation by killing students, intellectuals, Muslims and other critics of the government."
Referring to the prominent celebrities of the film world not participating in the BJP dinner, he said that a statement had also been conveyed by not attending the event.
"People will be silent but they will talk, they will argue, perhaps their tolerance is not yet crossed," he said.
