Pakistan Muslim League-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb has strongly criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan's statement of giving relief to the people, saying that the country has become expensive and poorer in 16 months due to unqualified and inept groups. ۔
Maryam Aurangzeb addressed the Prime Minister and said, "Imran sir, if you want to give relief to the people, find out how much sugar is available from the mills of Jahangir Tareen and Khusro Bakhtyar".
He said that the mills of Jahangir Tareen and Khusro Bakhtiar have not been searched till now; in 16 months the country has become expensive and poorer due to the unqualified, inefficient and most corrupt groups.
Spokesman Muslim League-N said that 'Imran sir, 16 months should be given to calculate how much profit the mills of Jahangir Tareen and Khusro Bakhtiar had done and how much the country was damaged'.
Regarding inflation, he told Prime Minister Imran Khan that 'to end the crisis of flour and sugar and to reduce prices, you have to find the most expensive.
Maryam Aurangzeb said, "In order to give relief to the people of Imran, you have to go beyond your own self and arrogance to think of the people and go home. Now you can resign immediately.
Criticizing the government, he said, 'In 16 months, it has been proved that Imran Khan has neither the ability nor the capacity to run the country'.
Earlier, in his statement, Prime Minister Imran Khan said, "I am aware of the problems that the public, including the salaried class, face. So I have decided that whatever happens, my government will take action on Tuesday." The Cabinet will announce various measures to reduce the prices of basic food commodities for the public at a February meeting.
He added that all relevant government agencies have begun a comprehensive investigation into the reasons for the increase in the prices of flour and sugar.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that responsible people will be adequately accounted for and that they will be punished substantially.
According to the report, Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice of the rise in inflation in the country and directed the economic team to reduce the prices of basic food commodities, especially wheat, flour, sugar, rice and pulses by 15 days.
At a meeting of the economic team, including Advisor Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Hamad Azhar and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jahangir Tare, at the Bani Gala, the Prime Minister said that if any government provides relief and basic services to the people If he cannot provide goods, he has no right to remain in power.
The Prime Minister said that inflation is the result of 'corruption and looting' of previous governments.
It should be noted that last week, the institutional statistics report said inflation rose to the highest level in 12 months at 14.6 percent in January and 12.6 percent in December last year.
The data released in this regard was attributed to inflation in the month of January, especially in the prices of wheat and flour, pulses, sugar, jaggery and oil.
According to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), inflation rose 1.97 percent over the previous month.
Remember that the highest inflation rate was recorded at 17% in 08-2007.
The increase in food prices, especially wheat, flour, pulses, sugar, jaggery and edible oils, led to an increase in inflation in January, according to data released by the company.
In urban areas, prices of food items increased by 19.5 per cent on an annual basis and 2.7 per cent on a monthly basis, while in rural areas they increased by 23.8 per cent and 3.4 per cent respectively.
