The head of Iran's Central Insurance Company, Ghulam Raza Sulaimani, has said that the Ukrainian plane crashed in the Tehran border area and the government will help pay compensation to the victims.

Ghulam Raza Sulaimani said that Iran's Central Insurance Company has no liability for compensation but the government may need some useful advice during the negotiations.

He said Iranian companies had issued insurance for Iranian passengers for foreign destinations, but the plane crashed in Iran.
Ghulam Raza Sulaimani said that Iranian planes are insured through Iran but the affected aircraft were from Ukraine, so it will have insurance coverage in Ukraine.
He added that he does not know much about aircraft insurance details but should include aircraft, passengers and other matters.
He said that since travellers were from different nationalities and different insurance policies, the number of charges should be discussed.
