In the Indian state of Amroha, one of the four accused of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl has been arrested while the search for the other is underway.
According to a report by the Indian news agency Times of India, a minor girl alleged in a complaint filed with the police that her friendship with an accused friend went to meet him on Facebook when four boys were gang-raped.
The girl said in her complaint, 'One of the accused was in contact with Pashpendra Chauhan of Tahapur village on Facebook; she asked me to meet her in Gajarula on Friday when I arrived there 3 of her friends. They also kidnapped me and took me to the forest where they raped my gang with a gun. '
On Saturday, the girl filed a complaint with the police, after which the police registered a case against Pushpendra Chauhan, who has been arrested while raids were launched for the arrest of Kundra Chauhan, J Veer Chauhan and another unidentified suspect.
Talking to the media, the girl said, "All the accused threatened me with serious consequences when I went to the police. They also had ties to some of the top officials and influential figures."
