Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court Friday summoned Jamaat-ud-Dawa's chief Hafiz Saeed in a two-cited case related to financing terrorists.

The Anti-Terrorism Court completed the trial on Thursday in two cases against Hafiz Saeed.

Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Malik Arshad Bhatta heard the cases where statements of all the witnesses were recorded and the proceedings were completed.

Deputy Prosecutor General Abdul Rauf Wattoo was representing the state in the cases, while in both cases, a total of 23 witnesses filed statements against Hafiz Saeed.

Hafiz Mohammad Saeed filed a case against the Police Department of Anti-Terrorism (CTD) for illegal funding.

On December 11, the Anti-Terrorism Court had charged Hafiz Saeed and his three accomplices Haft Abdul Salam bin Mohammed, Mohammad Ashraf and Zafar Iqbal in terror financing cases.

The leaders of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa declared all the allegations levelled at them as baseless and the result of global pressure on Pakistan and simultaneously claimed that they were included in the case as the leader of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The accused pleaded that he had left before the ban on the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba in 2002, and this is a recognized fact that is mentioned in the Supreme Court judgment.
