KARACHI: After successful negotiation with the Sindh government and the governor, Goods Transporters announced the end of the strike for several days.
Sindh Transport Minister Awais Shah said at a press conference with the transporters at the Madipur truck stand that the driver's license will be withdrawn from the traffic police on the demand of the transporters and the Sindh Assembly will be transferred to the Department of Transport.
He said that a committee has been constituted for the fee of the route permit, but the minimum fee will be fixed and it will be approved.
Awais Shah said that the provincial government recognizes the demands of the transporters and that the transport, fitness and route permit and other issues will be resolved by the transport department.
He criticized the federal government and said that the Sindh government does not believe in confusing matters like federalism.
