Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that we have requested Iran not to send Pakistani visitors in bulk.

The Foreign Minister contacted Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif and lamented the death of the Coronavirus.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Shah Mehmood Qureshi requested the Iranian Foreign Minister regarding the return of Pakistani pilgrims in Iran not to be sent to all but to give us ample opportunity to make proper arrangements on the Tufan border.

It is thought that 246 cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan so far, the majority of visitors coming from Iran.

"We have also requested Saudi Arabia to ease its 72-hour policy for returning Pakistanis who are there to seek Umrah, so that our ships can arrive and arrange their return," he said.

In a statement, the Foreign Minister said that I would urge the media to continue the way you are aware of this outbreak and consider it a responsibility and keep people informed of the security measures.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that we have to keep the balance on the one hand, there are poor working people. If there is a complete lockdown, they will create employment problems and if you ignore it then fear of spreading the pestilence. So we have to look at both sides.

He also said that China did not implement a strategy for the entire country but instead worked with the targeted approach.
