Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), has said that "the rulers are moving towards recognizing Israel's illegal occupation. Our Foreign Office is passing resolutions against the rights of the Palestinians." Addressing a function in Peshawar, he said that we are not faithful to the struggle of Kashmiris and Palestinians for freedom, the kind of rulers that have been imposed today have nothing to do with religion and civilization.
It should be noted that a 'peace agreement' was signed between the United Arab Emirates and Israel this week, under which diplomatic relations between the two countries will be restored. The Foreign Office's statement from Islamabad on recent developments in the Middle East also said that "the agreement between the UAE and Israel will have far-reaching effects."
In addition, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), said, "I was once told that religion has deep roots in the Pashtun belt and there is no better party to weaken it than the current (ruling party)." He said that the government should use thousands of NAB but we have no fear. At present we have to fight in the field without any need. If we want to save the country then the rulers have to be ousted.
Talking about Occupied Kashmir, he said that India had abolished the special status of Occupied Kashmir and made the Valley a part of its country but we were retreating. The head of JUI-F said that our party is a political party with a long history of 100 years. A credible political force is recognized. He claimed that if the ruling forces did not stand in our way, I could claim that the JUI-F would be the largest political party in Pakistan.
Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman said that the nation and future generations should realize that that was the time of the British and this is the time of Islam. Until we bring this difference and distinction to the fore, we are not claimants of true freedom. He said that it was clear in the 1973 constitution of Pakistan that all laws would be made in accordance with Qur'an and Sunnah but by 2020 not a single legislation was made in accordance with Qur'an and Sunnah.
Earlier, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman had said that India was among the group pressuring Pakistan to enact legislation on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman had said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and other parties also complained that they were kept away from consultation.
