Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farogh Naseem took oath as Federal Minister again two days later.
An oath-taking ceremony was held in the federal capital, Islamabad, where President Arif Alawi administered the oath of office.
After taking the oath of office, Farogh Naseem, a member of the MQM, a government ally of the PTI, once again became part of the federal cabinet.
It may be recalled that Dr. Farogh Naseem had resigned from the post of Minister of Law in pursuance of a case related to an extension of the post of Army Chief.
At a press conference on November 26, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that Law Minister Farogh Naseem had resigned from his post and submitted his resignation at the cabinet meeting.
Sheikh Rasheed had said that 'Farogh Naseem Qamar will fight the case of Javed Bajwa and as a coalition minister of MQM and law minister of Pakistan, he has done great service for Imran Khan and his cabinet'.
Later, a notification for his resignation was issued as he appeared in the Supreme Court on November 27 and was present with the Attorney General in court in the case of extending the term of Army Chief.
Similarly, he was present in the court on November 28 and his license was restored by the Pakistan Bar Council, however, after which he resigned from the PBC.
In addition, the Supreme Court approved a 6-month conditional extension of the post of Army Chief after a 3-day hearing on a case related to an extension of employment.
