Qatar's rich Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has appointed his close aide Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz as the new prime minister.
According to the Qatari broadcasting agency 'Al Jazeera' report, according to state TV, Emir of Qatar has appointed Sheikh Khalid as the new prime minister and interior minister of the Gulf state.
It should be noted that Emir of Qatar issued a decree for the appointment of new Prime Minister after accepting the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasir bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
Sheikh Khalid administered the oath of office in the presence of Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, who was also attended by Deputy Emir of Qatar Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad.
According to local media, the nominee Prime Minister performed duties in the energy sector and also served for the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, when he was a guardian.
Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani is educated in the United States.
Former Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah expressed his gratitude on Twitter for the guidance of Emir of Qatar in paying the duties of the Prime Minister.
