Lahore: Fitness tests of potential players of the Pakistan hockey team will be held today. Fitness tests of national hockey players will be taken through video recording.
According to sources, the management of the national hockey team has sent a test plan to the players. The tests will be held today. The tests will include lenses, modified planks, and push-ups.
Burpees, body squats, and jumping squats will also be part of this fitness test. On the first day, video tests of 15 players will be taken by the Pakistan Hockey Federation, a total of 48 players will be tested.
National hockey team head coach Khawaja Junaid says the players have been asked to make a one-minute video and send it. Upon completion of the fitness test, the players will be given a training plan for Ramadan.
It may be recalled that the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament was postponed last month due to the Coronavirus epidemic. The tournament was to be played in Epo, Malaysia from April 11 to 18, in which the hockey team was also to participate.
Organizers have postponed the event for the safety of the players and it has now been decided to hold the event from September 24 to October 2.
This year's Men's Hockey Junior Asia Cup has also been canceled due to the Corona epidemic. According to the Asian Hockey Federation, the cup was scheduled between 10 teams from June 4 to 12 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
