Decision to provide uninterrupted supply of electricity during Sahar and Iftar, Taraweeh prayers

ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has decided that all electricity distribution companies will continue to supply uninterrupted power to all consumers during the month of Ramadan during Sehri, Iftar, and Taraweeh. This was done in which the Chief Executive Officers of all the power companies including MD, NTDC, General Manager, NPCC, MD PEPCO besides senior officers of the Power Division participated through video conferencing.
It was also decided at the meeting that uninterrupted power supply would be continued to the industrial consumers who are operating under the government policy despite the coronavirus. It was also decided at the meeting that all the power distribution companies, PEPCO and all the control rooms of the power division would ensure redressal of public grievances as soon as possible. Strict instructions have also been issued on unscheduled load shedding, the supply of transformers, and other equipment to all the companies were also reviewed and satisfaction was also expressed.
Meanwhile, LESCO Chief Executive Mujahid Pervez Chatha said that LESCO has taken special measures on the instructions of Power Division to facilitate the fasting people during Ramadan, to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all domestic consumers during Sahar, Iftar and Taraweeh. However, load management will not be done on categories 1, 2, and 3 during the rest of the day. The total duration of load management of these high loss feeders in categories 4 and 5 will not exceed three and five hours respectively.
He said that a control room has also been set up at LESCO headquarters where along with the Chief Executive, the Department of Operations, Power Distribution Control Center and Public Relations Department will be active 24 hours a day and will review power demand, supply, complaints and Immediate redressal of grievances will be made possible. The availability of additional transformer trolleys in different divisions and sub-divisions has been ensured.
