The Prime Minister's Assistant Special Health Minister Dr Zafar Mirza says that the Coronavirus has not been transmitted from person to person in the country till now, and all the victims have been infected abroad.
Dr. Zafar Mirza said, "I do not know the details of the last case against Coronavirus in Pakistan but the cases that came before it did not transfer from human to human, who carried the virus from outside their body. "Let's call them primary cases. We caught people at the airport and allowed them to go home when there was no virus."
"We can prevent the virus from spreading to the country if we properly screen those coming from abroad and their loved ones," he said.
Zafar Mirza said of the weakness in the monitoring system to catch the virus-infected persons, saying, "I myself am in touch with the Chief Minister Sindh, the federal and provincial governments are working together on the matter, as far as screening is concerned." So this system was made just a few weeks ago, before that we did not feel the need for the health screening of people coming from abroad while this system has already screened about 8 million people from the 1st of February.
Referring to the high numbers of Corona virus-infected people in Sindh, he said, "Karachi airport is the busiest airport in the country, according to our SOPs. They are being shifted to the hospital while others are being sent home with instructions and cannot be forced to hospital.
Regarding the conduct of PSL matches in Karachi, the Special Assistant said, "Unless the virus is being transmitted from person to person, we do not need to take such measures."
He said, "Most cases of Coronavirus in Pakistan came from Iran, Iraq and other countries, not a single case has come to Pakistan from China, as long as we have stopped the transmission of the virus from person to person. If the virus starts transmitting to humans, then the graph will go up. "
It should be noted that so far 20 patients infected with coronavirus have been exposed in Pakistan.
The second case of Corona was reported in Gilgit-Baltistan on Wednesday and the 20th overall case.
