In the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa gave remarks during the hearing of a case related to an extension of the term of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
A three-member bench comprising Justice Mazhar Alam and Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, heard the petition filed by Riaz Hanif Rahi, a lawyer for the Jurist Foundation.
Former law minister Prabhu Naseem appeared in the court to fight his case while Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan was present in the courtroom to explain the government's position.
Former law minister appears in court on behalf of Army chief. It may be recalled that yesterday, the Supreme Court suspended the extension notification for extension of the term of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
It should be remembered here that the term of the Chief of Army Staff is coming to an end on November 29, and this job was extended by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
However, the court suspended the notification and issued notices to the Army Chief, Federal Government and the Defense Ministry, making General Qamar Javed Bajwa a party to the case.
