A 6-year-old Safia, who was stranded for 20 hours in an avalanche in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, died.
After that, 75 people were killed in avalanches in Neelam Valley and 77 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof. Dr. Adnan Mehraj said that Safia had deep wounds and was undergoing treatment at Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital where she died and was referred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
Dr Adnan Mehraj said of Safia's mother, who was trapped in Suri village for 20 hours after an avalanche collapsed at her home in Suri village.
Dr. Mehraj said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed the special care of the girl while expressing concern over Safia's condition on a visit to the hospital yesterday.
It should be noted that after Safia's death, a total of 3 children of the affected family were killed by snowfall.
Sheikh Khairullah, an elder from the affected family, told Dawn that at least 18 people of the same family were killed when an avalanche hit two houses in Suri village.
