American theater actor Mark Blum, 69, was killed by the Coronavirus.

Fox News reported that the news was confirmed by the actor's widow Janet Zerish while talking to the media.

"My husband passed away yesterday because of the Coronavirus, he was undergoing treatment at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York," said Janet Zerish.

Mark Blum has worked in theater throughout his career, as well as films "Desperately Seeking Suzanne" and Crocodile Dundee, while also working on the Netflix series 'YOU'.

A TV personality named Rebecca Damon also confirmed the news on social networking site Twitter.

In his tweet, he shared photos of the actor and wrote: 'I am very sad to say that my friend Mark Blum was killed due to the Coronavirus, Mark Blum with our company Sig defamation from 2007 to 2017,

In another tweet, Rebecca Damon wrote that Mark was a great man and his fans will always remember him.

They also messaged users staying in homes to protect against the Coronavirus.

Mark Blum worked with the actress Daily Arquette in the 1985 film 'Desperately Seeking Suzanne'.

The actress, speaking to the media, lamented the passing of fellow actor Mark Blum, saying "he was a great man, he loved his work".

It is thought that more than 75,000 people have been infected with the Coronavirus in the US so far, and more than a thousand have died.

In the United States, the state of New York is the worst affected by the virus, where half of the cases reported in the country are reported in New York.
