Jack Ma, retired chairman of e-commerce company Alibaba, arrived in Pakistan for the first batch of essential medical supplies related to the Coronavirus.
Medical supplies were provided by the Jack Ma Foundation and the Alibaba Foundation platform.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah received the donation from managing director Daraz Ehsan, representative of both foundations.
The National Disaster Management Authority will ship and distribute goods across the country.
Mr. Li Bijian, Consul General of China in Karachi and Mr. Zhang Hao, Vice-Consul of China in Karachi were also present on the occasion.
It was announced on March 21 that donations of essential medical equipment to 10 Asian countries were announced.
All 10 Asian countries have a total of 18 million masks, 20 million test cats, 36 thousand protective clothing, and other essential goods.

The Jack Ma Foundation hopes that donations to medical equipment will increase the ability to fight the virus and help prevent further spread.
It added that it is our endeavor to continue to support every possible means to overcome the logistical challenges.
A spokesman for the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDMA) said the donated goods included 50,000 testing kits, 1 million fee masks, including N95 masks.
