Ali Zafar appointed Ambassador of Namal Knowledge City

Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed renowned Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar as the ambassador of the country's first Namal Knowledge City.

In a tweet on social networking site Twitter, singer Ali Zafar said that it was a great honor for him to be appointed as the ambassador of Pakistan's first and largest knowledge city 'Namal Knowledge City' by Prime Minister Imran Khan. Ali Zafar added in his tweet that knowledge plays a key role in the development of a country and a society.

Singer Ali Zafar also posted various posts on his Instagram in this regard and announced the appointment of Knowledge City Ambassador. “Being the son of Dr. Kanwal Amin and Prof. Muhammad Zafarullah, this award is very satisfying and exciting for me who dedicated his life as an educator to acquire knowledge and spread it and we also insisted on following the same path.”

Ali Zafar said that Allah has given me the opportunity to play my role as an ambassador in building the first Knowledge City of its kind, Namal. The singer further wrote that a city built in barren land which was envisioned by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

It should be noted here that the appointment of the Namal Knowledge City Ambassador is the second major honor for Ali Zafar this year. Earlier, in August, the President announced the Civil Awards, including Ali Zafar's name. It may be recalled that two days ago, on October 24, Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation stone of Namal Knowledge City Phase One in Mianwali. Addressing the function, Prime Minister Imran Khan emphasized providing affordable and quality higher education opportunities to the youth of Pakistan and said that good education is the foundation of a tolerant and progressive society.

 A press release issued by the Prime Minister's Office said that the vision of this Knowledge City was presented by the Prime Minister for the backward population of remote areas. Prime Minister Imran Khan was briefed on the occasion that after the completion of the first phase of Knowledge City, more than 10,000 students from backward areas would benefit from it.

The Prime Minister was informed that the project would be an eco-friendly and modern model of the green structure. Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the commitment of those who donated millions of rupees and thanked them. Prime Minister Imran Khan had also expressed his desire to transform this Knowledge City into an institution of international repute.

In this regard, a video was released on the official Instagram account of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the caption of which said that I imagined the largest knowledge city of Pakistan in 2005 and today its first step has become a reality.
