KABUL: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani signed a release order for the release of Taliban prisoners, after which 1,500 Afghan Taliban prisoners will be released under US and Afghan Taliban agreement.

According to Afghan media, under the agreement between the US and the Afghan Taliban in February, fifteen hundred Afghan Taliban prisoners will be released, the release of the prisoners will begin on March 14 from Parwan Jail.
Afghan Taliban prisoners will be released after biometrics and the released Afghan Taliban will give a written assurance not to commit violent acts again.
The Afghan government says five thousand Taliban prisoners will be released if the Afghan Taliban reduces its violence.
The UN Security Council is unanimously endorsed the US and Afghan Taliban agreement, the resolution emphasized the peace process and intra-Afghan dialogue.
