As a precautionary measure, a lockdown was imposed across the country due to the coronavirus, which led to many famous singers performing at online concerts for fans.
The singers, who are in their homes, appeared to be busy holding online concerts for their fans, followed by the announcement of a virtual Sufi program to raise funds for coronavirus victims.
This online Sufi program will be held on Sunday, May 10 this year.
According to the fundraising website, the program was named the Naat and Sufi program.
The website further said that singers like Ali Zafar, Rafaqat Ali Khan, Ali Sethi, Haroon Rashid, and Ustad Shafqat Amanat Ali will perform in the program.
Apart from them, artists like Khurram Iqbal, Junaid Yousuf, and Ali Sher will also be part of the program.
According to the website, the artist will devote his time to raising funds for Coronavirus victims, a link to his video will be given on a $10 (PKR 1590) subscription.
"The Coronavirus has kept us all away from each other, but don't keep yourself away from those who need our help the most because of this virus," the website said in a statement. '
It may be recalled that the government had imposed lockdown in many parts of the country since March following a sharp rise in cases of coronavirus.
As a result of this lockdown, many people's jobs were jeopardized while some lost their jobs.
A total of 23,693 people were diagnosed with the virus in the country while 545 people lost their lives.
On February 26, the first case of coronavirus was reported in the country. At the same time, various measures were taken including the closure of educational institutions which were later changed to lockdown.
However, the spread of the coronavirus in the country has not slowed down and a new wave has been seen since the beginning of this month compared to March and April.
