Latest Research is Stomach cancer starts to increase in young people
WASHINGTON: US experts in recent research have revealed that stomach cancer has increased in youth over the past two decades.
According to details, experts at the US University of Mayo Clinic reviewed stomach cancer over the past 2 to 3 decades, suggesting that a large number of young people have been diagnosed with stomach cancer in the past decades. ۔
Experts reviewed the medical records, illnesses, and causes of people with stomach cancer from 1973 to 2015, while those whose medical records were reviewed included 30- to 60-year-olds.
Investigative reports published in Scientific Magazine revealed that most people suffering from stomach cancer during the last 2 to 3 decades were younger.
The research team said that by 1970, people aged 60 or older had stomach cancer, but since 1970, the number of people suffering from obesity has been declining by a decade, compared to the age of 30. The number of people suffering from stomach cancer began to increase.
Experts say that after the age of 30, people in their 40's are suffering from cancer.
The aforementioned review is said to be the largest research ever conducted on stomach cancer research.
Experts did not specify in their report what were the reasons for young people suffering from stomach cancer instead of middle-aged people in the last 2 to 3 decades.
However, the data also showed that cancer drugs and chemotherapy were not providing significant benefit to patients suffering from stomach cancer at the age of 30, experts said.
