Recently, in an interview with actress Meera Sethi, he talked about some of these issues and explained why he talks so much about women's rights. In response to a question, Osman Khalid Butt said that acting is not considered a job in Pakistan and even if a person enters the showbiz industry and works, people keep asking him what he actually does? Usman Khalid Butt said that even after 2 years of acting, his family members kept asking him what he was doing.
Responding to a question, the actor said that while ordinary people have misconceptions about people associated with the showbiz industry, people associated with showbiz i.e., directors also have misconceptions about other people.

He said that in the showbiz industry, a repetitive person is not given a job, and if a woman is controversial, the issue gets worse. He recounted an incident in a play in which when he was talking to the director about himself and heroin, he suggested the name of a heroine to the director, but the director rejected the name of the actress. Are they controversial? In response to a question about the connection of culture with religion, Osman Khalid Butt said that no one has been able to answer the question of what is Pakistani culture.
He further explained that as a child he used to dance to Sindhi and Balochi folk songs and participate in every function but no one had ever told him that dancing was not our culture. Osman Khalid Butt added that now we have started using religion as a tool by linking religion with culture and especially we are using religion against women and actors. In response to another question, the actor said that although dramas and films have been made on many social issues, we are still not solving the problems and we are not able to move towards improvement in this regard.
Osman Khalid Butt added in the interview that apart from acting, he also directs theater plays including choreography and poetry and he does it whenever he gets a chance to do something. Osman Khalid Butt's interview consisted of two parts and in both parts, he talked openly about his career and social issues including showbiz.
