There Are 'Flaws' in the Fia Investigation, Meesha Shafi's Legal Team

Singer Meesha Shafi's legal team has said that there are "flaws" in the investigation completed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at the request of Ali Zafar. According to the Dawn newspaper, in response to the FIA's interim challan presented in the trial court yesterday, Meesha Shafi's legal team said that in their view, the report of the Federal Investigation Agency has deep legal 'flaws' been present.

According to Meesha Shafi's legal team, no legal court has yet ruled against Meesha Shafi in the case filed on Ali Zafar's complaint. At the same time, Meesha Shafi's team expressed hope that they are confident that the eight other people named in the case, including the singer, will not be convicted in the relevant courts. Meesha Shafi's team responded to the interim challan filed by the FIA ​​in the Lahore trial court on December 15.

The FIA ​​had said in the interim challan submitted to the court that according to the oral and documentary evidence of the FIA ​​investigation and case, my Shafi alias Meesha Shafi, actress Effat Omar, Mahim Javed, Lena Ghani, Haseem Zaman, Fareeha Ayub Syed Faizan Raza, Hamna Raza, and Ali Gul Pir were found guilty. The FIA's interim challan said that Meesha Shafi had made allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar on social media on April 9, 2018, but failed to provide evidence against him.

The interim challan stated that the other accused also failed to present evidence related to their claims, on the basis of which a court order in September this year against all persons under Section (1) 20 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PICA) 2016. The case was filed under. In the interim challan, the court was asked to take further legal action against Meesha Shafi and other accused. Ali Zafar had lodged a complaint with the FIA ​​Cyber ​​Crime Wing in November 2018 alleging that several social media accounts were posting "insulting and threatening material" against him.

The FIA ​​investigated the case for about two years and in the same case, the trial court had already ordered to file a case against Meesha Shafi and nine others. Actress Effat Omar, Ali Gul Pir and five others were granted interim bail after a case was filed against them. Apart from the case against Meesha Shafi, Ali Zafar has also filed a defamation suit in the Lahore Sessions Court, which is still pending.

Ali Zafar had filed the case against Meesha Shafi when the singer had made allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar in April 2018, which was rejected by Ali Zafar.
