ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government will fully support every effort to highlight the country's true identity and culture.
Presiding over a meeting on the restoration of the Pakistani film industry and cinema, the Prime Minister said, "Our top priority is to highlight Pakistanis and to preserve and promote the culture and values of our society".
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister's Assistant Special Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan, Assistant Special For Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari, Secretary Information Akbar Hussain Durrani, Faraz Chaudhry, Pir Saad Ahsanuddin and Zoraiz Lashari.
The participants of the meeting presented various suggestions to the Prime Minister on the restoration of the film industry and cinema in the country.
Zoraiz Lashari said that the second meeting will be held today in Lahore with Secretary Culture, Film Producers, Directors and Cinema owners to propose solutions to the problems facing the film industry.
In addition, the federation last day assured all four provinces to deal with locust attacks that are adversely affecting the agriculture sector, especially in Sindh and Punjab.
The assurance given by Prime Minister Imran Khan was given at a high-level meeting held at the Prime Minister in which all four Prime Ministers participated via video link.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, the meeting reviewed the steps taken to eliminate locust.
The meeting was attended by Minister for National Security Khusro Bakhtiar, Advisor to Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Assistant Special Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and other senior officials, while the chief ministers of all the four provinces also participated via video link.
