ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister's Special Assistant for Youth Affairs Usman Dar has been severely criticized for "derogatory" remarks in a television program. Many users, including prominent figures on the social networking site Twitter, took to the streets to harass Pashtun nationalities in the program.

On November 4, anchor Mansoor Ali Khan questioned the demands of the participants of the Freedom March in the program to the point on Express TV what the government would do to satisfy the protesters. To which Usman Dar said, 'The same will happen to them as Pathan 500 blankets that come into the street go away for 50 rupees.'

On the aforementioned statement, Hina Pervez Butt, a member of the Muslim League-N Provincial Assembly, condemned the statement and criticized her for ridiculing her on a nationality. The host of the program also had to interfere with the identification of the female political leader and make Osman Dar not to mention any nationality.

However, the host suggested Usman Dar withdraw his statement, following which the other participants in the program continued their opposition. However, the issue became a topic of debate on social media the following day, and Twitter users expressed outrage over derogatory remarks about Pashtuns and the hashtag #ShameOnUsmanDar began to trend on Twitter.

As the conflict intensified, Usman Dar himself elaborated on his statement, "All Pakistanis are highly respected to me, it is unacceptable for me to be heartbroken by any person or nation. I have withdrawn my words in the program. ' In a tweet, he apologized for his remarks saying, "If any of my sentences hurt my Pashtun brothers, I apologize".

It may be recalled that a few days ago, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi made an irresponsible statement in connection with the tragic incident, which has angered the people everywhere.

Firdous Shamim Naqvi along with Halim Adil Shaikh traveled to Mirpur to pay tribute to the relatives of the victims of the tragedy in Gam, where they said the incident was "ignorance".

He later apologized for the protests by the people.

Be aware that this is not the first time a member of a government has been criticized for its irresponsible statement before the Minister of Science and Technology has been strongly criticized for making derogatory statements regarding the scholar.
