Senior actress Durdana Butt dies of corona virus

Senior Pakistani actress Durdana Butt has died in Karachi at the age of 83 due to coronavirus.
Actor and RJ Khalid Malik confirmed his death to Dawn Images. He also reported the death of Durdana Butt on Instagram. "Durdana Butt's family told them that the actress was admitted to the hospital after contracting the coronavirus," Malik said.

"Until the last minute, the doctors said he was a fighter, but what could he do when called, and she understood, he had given up trying to make a living," he said. Khalid Malik said in a post shared on Instagram that Dardana (Dodi) Apa is no more.
He further wrote that "the wise, humorous, insightful Durdana Butt was a special soul, who no longer lives in this world." Journalist Tehmina Khalid also confirmed the death of the senior actress and said that she died of corona virus and she had been suffering from cancer for the last few years.

He said he was unwell before he contracted the corona virus. Earlier this month, senior actress Durdana Butt was reportedly shifted to a hospital due to ill health and placed on a ventilator. Actor Khalid Malik shared a photo of Durdana Butt and appealed to the fans to pray for her recovery and said that the senior actress has been placed on a ventilator.
He had said that the condition of the actress was critical but did not say at that time due to which illness she was taken to the hospital. Later, Khalid Malik shared a message on Instagram from Durdana Butt's niece, Maleeha Khan, in which he said, Pray for recovery.

It is believed that Durdana Butt started acting in the 70's and her role as 'BB' in 'Loneliness' made her very popular. His popular dramas include 'Angan Teerha', 'Fifty Fifty', 'Dagdagi', 'Intezar' and 'Raswai'. Durdana Butt has also acted in various Pakistani films including 'Hijrat', 'Ishq Posito', 'Balu Mahi', 'Dil Diyan Galan' and 'Pare Hit Lo'.
The senior actress's last drama was 'Shame' which was aired on a private TV channel in 2019.
