Sarmad Khoosat: Pressure to Stop the release of “Zindagi Tamasha”
Renowned Pakistani filmmaker Sarmad Khoosat revealed on Twitter that his film 'Zindagi Tamasha' was being obstructed in the release, for which he sought help from Prime Minister Imran Khan.
On the social networking site Twitter, Sarmad Khoosat issued an open letter explaining to the Prime Minister and others about the issue.
He wrote in his letter that "my film was going to be released on January 24 but then based on the assumptions drawn from the two-and-a-half-minute trailer, a complaint was filed against the film writer, producer and me".
The director also wrote, "As a law-abiding citizen, I am convinced that there are no abusive and inappropriate scenes in the film. In response to the complaint, I sent my film again to the censor board where it was once again. Reviewed, where a few scenes were allowed to release the film, after which I started promoting my film, but only a week before the release, a group had to stop the film's release. Efforts are underway and this time they are under pressure to use a resort.
According to Sarmad Khoosat, "I am taking this to your notice because my team and I are being harassed and pressured, and this is also damaging the state body like the Central Board of Film Censor."
He added that 'artistic thinking and expression should not be affected by the political motives of some people, but I am afraid that if we do not compete now, this will probably continue.'
It is to be noted that the 'life spectacle' is directed by Sarmad Khoosat while he along with his sister Kanwal Khoosat have also produced the film.
The story of the film is written by Nirmal Bano, while the cast includes Arif Hussain, Samiya Mumtaz, Ali Qureshi and Iman Suleiman.
Remember that the first trailer of the film came out in September last year, which, although it was difficult to guess the story of the film, it seems that the film's story revolves around a very sensitive and important subject.
The trailer of the movie hinted at how the people of religion and politics have achieved their goals in the film.
Some of the characters in the film were shown in seemingly good but hidden roles.
A few days after the trailer's release, trailer of Zindagi Tamasha was removed from YouTube, on which Sarmad Khoosat explained that although the movie's story was not fully shown in the trailer, nor did the movie's story appear as shown in the trailer, The trailer has been removed because people are propagating the film's story in a wrong way.
