Rumors of Johnny Depp's return to the franchise have died down

Rumors of returning to the popular film series "Pirates of the Caribbean" have died after a contempt case was filed in a US court against Hollywood actor Johnny Depp's ex-wife Amber Heard.

After Johnny Depp's apparent victory in the defamation case, rumors were circulating that he would be seen playing his famous character 'Captain Jack Sparrow' in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. Still, now his team has denied the rumors.

Two days ago, a report claimed that Johnny Depp was considering a 300 million deal to restore Captain Jack Sparrow's role.

Nearly 4 years after Johnny Depp's split from Disney, a source said: "Disney is very interested in improving its relationship with Johnny Depp.

However, shortly after the reports surfaced, a spokesman for the actor told NBC News that the rumors were "fabricated."

Johnny Depp has starred in five of the Pirates of the Caribbean series released so far, the last film in the series being released in 2017 while the sixth part is currently in the making.

Last month, the producer of Pirates of the Caribbean was asked if Johnny Depp would return to the series' following projects, to which he replied, "Not at the moment; the future is yet to be decided."

Johnny Depp's plans include an album released on July 15 with English rock guitarist Jeff Beck.
