An application was filed in the Lahore High Court on July 15 this month to ban the video-sharing application TikTok, declaring it immoral. Advocate Nadeem Sarwar, in a petition filed by a citizen, said that more than 10 people using TikTok have also died. The petition states that the video-sharing app is becoming a means of spreading pornography for ratings and fame on social media.
The petition also cites a recent incident in which a girl was gang-raped by a group of TikTok friends. The petitioner pleaded with the court that TikTok is a major tribulation of the modern age and that the said app has been banned in Bangladesh and Malaysia for pornography, inappropriate content and making fun of people. After a petition was filed in the Lahore High Court against TikTok, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) issued a final warning to the Chinese app and directed it to remove obscene and inappropriate content.
After the petition was filed in the Lahore High Court, it is believed that the government also wants to ban the said app, however, most of the TikTok stars are also worried about such rumours. However, Hareem Shah, the star who gained fame from TikTok, is in favour of banning the app, unlike other stars.
Yes, TikTok star Hareem Shah is also in favour of banning the app by the government.

Talking about the rumours of a ban on TikTok in Geo News program Geo Pakistan, Hareem Shah admitted that some young people were making inappropriate videos on the said app, due to which the government was going to take such a step.
"If the government has made a decision to save the new generation from disaster, then we should recognize it and the government should take action on this decision," Hareem Shah said in response to a question about the government's possible closure of TikTok.
