ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has hinted at lifting the ban on video-sharing app TikTok by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). According to details, the Islamabad High Court issued a three-page written order against the decision of the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) to close TikTok. Approved the petition for immediate suspension of the closure decision and issued notice to the PTA.
The written order said why not suspend the decision of PTA until the final decision of the case. The PTA should appoint a senior officer to appear in court at the next hearing. Why not act against PTA for non-compliance with court orders? The next hearing is set for October 23. The questions raised by the petitioner's counsel are noteworthy and the petition is allowed for hearing.
The Madras High Court's Madurai Bench has unbanned the TikTok. Last week, the bench banned TikTok, after which Google Play was banned. TikTok was removed from the store, but the TikTok administration assured the court that it would stop posting offensive and obscene videos on TikTok, which the court has decided to lift, soon from the Google Play Store TikTok can be downloaded.
