FBR Issues Tax Notice of Rs 58 Million to Atif Aslam

The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has imposed an income tax of Rs 58 million on renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam. In this regard, the FBR said that the said tax was imposed on singer Atif Aslam in the year 2018 after his income tax audit.

According to the Federal Board of Revenue, Atif Aslam did not disclose his flats in Dubai in his statements. However, the FBR had obtained details of Atif Aslam's bank accounts and assets, so the Federal Board of Revenue issued a notice imposing a tax on the singer.

In case of non-submission of reply by Atif Aslam, his bank accounts will be frozen. At the same time, if there is no response from the singer, the FBR will also collect tax from their frozen accounts. It may be recalled that before him, two famous Pakistani singers Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Fawad Khan were also facing an investigation by the FBR.

A few months ago, singer Fawad Khan had declared his overseas income of $ 11.7 million, which was investigated by the FBR, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had sought the singer's five-year travel history. In addition, in October 2020, the FBR launched an investigation against world-renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to find out his source of income.
