Keanu Reeves has earned critical acclaim for his performance. A New York Times critic praised his versatility, saying he "displays considerable discipline and range... He easily moves between the buttoned-down attitude that fits the story of a police procedure and the carefree manner of her comic roles." However, he has spent much of his career being typecast. A recurring arc of his characters in many roles he has played in saving the world, as can be seen in Ted Logan, Siddhartha Buddha, Neo, Johnny Mnemonic, John Constantine, and Klaatu. The John Wick franchise represented a return to Reeves' critical accolades and commercial success. He has won several awards and has a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
On stage, he acted as Prince Hamlet for the Manitoba Theater Center production of Hamlet. He is a musician and played bass for the band's Dogstar and Becky. Wrote the text for a picture book, Ode to Happiness, illustrated by Alexandra Grant. He has also produced a documentary, Side by Side, and directed the martial arts film Man of Tai Chi.

He bought his first home in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles in 2003 and owned an apartment near Central Park West in New York. He has never been married. In December 1999, her partner Jennifer Syme, twenty-seven, gives birth to a stillborn daughter called Ava Archer Syme-Reeves. The couple separated a few weeks later. In April 2001, Jennifer Syme died in a car accident while possibly driving under drugs and alcohol. She is buried next to her daughter in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
Keanu Reeves was born in Beirut, Lebanon, on September 2, 1964, to Patricia Taylor and Samuel Nowlin Reeves, Jr., geologist. Keanu's mother is British, and his father is American of Hawaiian descent. His mother was working in Beirut when she met his father. His father worked as an unskilled laborer and graduated when he was incarcerated in Hawaii at the Hilo International Airport for heroin trafficking.
He abandons his wife and family when Keanu is three, and Keanu currently has no contact with him. Keanu also has the name of his uncle, Henry Keanu Reeves. He and his father are seen for the last time when Keanu only.
Reeves experiences a volatile childhood, moves frequently and lives alongside successive stepfathers. Following his parent's divorce in 1966, his mother became a designer, and his family moved to Sydney, Australia, and then to New York, United States. There, he meets Paul Aaron, a Hollywood director. The couple moves to Toronto, Canada. Reeves's mother then married Robert Miller, a promoter, in 1976; the couple divorced in 1980. He finally settled down with his fourth husband, Jack Bond, a make-up artist; the marriage ended in 1994.
His grandparents and several nannies took care of Reeves and his sisters; then, Reeves spent most of his childhood in Toronto. Within five years, he attended four high schools, including the Etobicoke School of the Arts; will be returned.
Reeves shines in ice hockey in the studies because he had dyslexia. He forged an outstanding reputation as a goalkeeper at De La Salle College in Toronto and earned the nickname "The Wall". Reeves dreamed of representing Canada in professional hockey, but an injury ends his dream. After leaving De La Salle College, he studied at Avondale Secondary Alternative School, which subsequently enabled him to pursue his acting career. He abandoned after that and failed to graduate.
Keanu Reeves has a biological sister named Kim (born 1966 in Australia) who had leukemia in the early 1990s. On his mother's side, he also has a half-sister called Karina Miller (born 1976 in Toronto), and on his father's side, another half-sister called Emma Rose Reeves (born 1980 in Hawaii).
Keanu Reeves began his acting career at the age of nine. He appears in the Damn Yankees production. At fifteen, he played Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, a romantic tragedy at the theater by Leah Posluns. Keanu made his screen debut in a comedy series on CBC, Hangin' In. In the early 1980s, he appeared in commercials (including one for Coca-Cola), short films including a drama on NFB One Step Away, and finally, the cult hit of Brad Fraser Wolfboy. In 1984, he played in the Going Great series.
Keanu Reeves' first notable film was Youngblood, an ice hockey movie by Peter Markle, starring Patrick Swayze and Rob Lowe, filmed in Canada. He played a Quebec goalie. Keanu spent the late 1980s appearing in several teen films, including Permanent Record and the 1989 hit comedy, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, with its sequel in 1991, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. This role marked Keanu a lot. He said, "I used to have nightmares where you put Ted [he played Ted] on my gravestone." He plays a secondary role in the same period in an adaptation of Dangerous Liaisons by Stephen Frears.
In the early 1990s, Reeves began to break out of his teenage film period. The action film Point Break, where he finds Patrick Swayze, sounds like a farewell to youth and recklessness despite his commercial success. The feature film will become a cult.
In 1999, the revolutionary Matrix the Wachowski gives new life to his career. This special effect masterpiece will remain one of the biggest successes in the history of science fiction cinema.
In early 2014, he was chosen by director Eli Roth to play the main character of his next project as a director, the independent thriller Knock Knock, which he also produced, and which revealed Ana de Armas, was released in 2015. Reviews are bad.
But the year before, the actor made a noticeable comeback wearing the John Wick action flick by Matrix Trilogy stunt coordinator Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. The actor returns to the genre that made him famous, but in the role of a bad guy: in fact, he plays a former hitman in search of revenge after the theft of his car and the murder of his dog, the last gift from his deceased wife.
