Renowned novelist and travel writer Mustansar Hussain Tarar has apologized for receiving the 'Perfect Art' award from the Pakistan Academy of Letters (Academy of Literature Pakistan) after well-known Seraiki poet and writer Muhammad Ashraf alias Dr. Ashu Lal. Ashok Lal had refused to accept the award immediately after the academy's announcement a few days ago, after which Mustansar Hussain Tarar also apologized for not receiving the award.
According to a report published in Dawn newspaper, Mustansar Hussain Tarar, in his video statement, announced not to accept the award based on breaking the rules and traditions of awarding the prize by the Academy of Literature Pakistan. In his short video, Mustansar Hussain Tarar said that the academy had changed the 20 to the 21-year-old tradition of giving awards and announced giving the 'Kamal Fun' award to two personalities, which is ridiculous.

According to Awal Nigar, the award has been given to the same literary personality to date, but this time, contrary to tradition, the prize was divided into two parts, which is unacceptable. The travel correspondent said that he came to know that a few days ago, Ashu Lal had also refused to accept the said award based on his own opinion, which was his basic right, and he thought that the Seraiki poet had done it right. According to Mustansar Hussain, he is 83 years old and has completed 60 years of literature, and cannot receive half the award. He argued that it was unfair to give the 'Perfect Art' award to two personalities instead of one, out of tradition.
He also thanked those who voted for him at the Pakistan Letters Academy. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, chairman of the Academy of Literature Pakistan, had announced the award for 'Kamal Fan' on March 31, shortly after which Seraiki poet Ashu Lal announced that he would not accept the award due to the anti-people and fascist policies of the state.
The 'Kamal Fun' award has been given by the Pakistan Academy of Letters since 1997. So far, the award has been given to the same author, but this time it was announced to give to two writers. Ashu Lal had said that his youth was going missing in the current government, the fascist government was taking over the locals' resources, and the state was busy robbing the minds of the people, in which case he could not get the award.s.
Other writers nominated for the award this time include Kishwar Naheed, Asghar Nadeem Syed, Mahmood Shaam, Muhammad Izhar ul Haq, Dr. Anwar Ahmed, Dr. Rauf Parekh, Parveen Malik, Dr. Riaz Majeed, Hafeez Khan, Mohammad Hameed Shahid, Dr. Abasin Yousaf.
